Right to Own
Systems consulting for owner-led businesses

Take back what's yours.

You have a right to own your systems. I help owners replace the software they rent with software they own, built by their own people, with AI, around the way their business actually runs.

The problem

Most businesses rent five pieces of software that each do sixty percent of the job, and none of them do it your way.

A CRM that never quite fits your pipeline. Accounting software that fights you on quotes. A project tracker nobody updates. An outsourced service doing work your own team could do with the right tool. Each one bills monthly, each one holds a piece of your business, and the pieces don't talk to each other.

The tools that used to require a development team now don't. An owner who can explain how their business works can now have a system built around exactly that, and own it outright. That is the whole idea behind Right to Own.

Proof · Capital Choice Office Furniture

We did it at Capital Choice first.

I'm President of Capital Choice Office Furniture. Over four months the company replaced its CRM, its accounting software, its spreadsheets, an outsourced cold-calling service, and a chaotic inbox with one operating system it built and owns. Here is the ledger.

Capital Choice · department by department

What the operating system does, and what it replaced.

One system, one database, every department. Each person sees what their role needs, and the work that used to live in inboxes, spreadsheets and rented apps happens in one place the company owns.

Leadership

Answers without asking anyone

Was: spreadsheets coaching consultants
  • A CEO dashboard: revenue, cash, receivables, pipeline coverage and the deals closing this month, for any period.
  • A knowledge base of standing rules and decisions that every AI assistant reads before it does anything.
  • Improve the OS: anyone asks for a change inside the app, AI writes it, leadership approves. 160+ changes shipped that way.
  • Two-step sign-in, payment release limits and an audit trail on everything that moves money.
Sales

No deal goes quiet

Was: HubSpot quotes that took days
  • Every deal carries a required next action and date; the system reads the email thread and suggests the next one, and the rep clicks to accept.
  • Stalled deals and missing confirmations (decision maker, budget, install date) are flagged and discounted from the forecast.
  • Complex quotes in hours, with vendor pricing worked up to markup automatically.
  • A bid desk reads bid invitations from the bidding platforms and follows up with general contractors every three business days on its own.
  • The Monday sales meeting builds itself: scoreboard, overdue list, three questions.
Marketing & outreach

Outreach without the agency

Was: $5,000/mo cold-calling service
  • An outreach queue with 7-touch cadences: who to call, why, and what happened last time, one click to log it.
  • Calls recorded and transcribed; AI drafts the follow-up email.
  • Website leads graded and routed automatically; an unanswered lead moves to the next rep after two business hours.
  • The company website, 400+ products, blog and SEO, is edited and published from the same system.
Finance

Books that keep themselves current

Was: QuickBooks a controller's week
  • General ledger, P&L and balance sheet where every number opens the records behind it.
  • AI reads vendor bills out of four mailboxes every 15 minutes into a review queue.
  • Bank sync with automatic categorization, reconciliation, pay runs by ACH or check, collections reminders.
  • Commissions, the Ohio sales tax report and 1099 prep calculated, not assembled.
  • A Friday cash brief and a month-end books check written automatically.
Operations

Did we deliver what we promised?

Was: spreadsheets messy inboxes
  • An 11-stage fulfillment board that emails the customer automatically at every stage.
  • Vendor acknowledgements read automatically and matched to purchase orders; backorders and ship-date slips caught early.
  • Delivery schedule, work orders and true job cost on every project.
  • Jobs at risk of missing their date flagged in one daily digest, never a drip of alerts.
Design

From tape measure to proposal

New: a capability the rented stack never had
  • A space planner: draw the room to measurements and place furniture.
  • AI proposes layouts to start from.
  • Prints a client-ready proposal tied to the project and its quote.
What it costs to run and how it's kept up
Built forabout $12,000, in four months. Next time: one week of discovery, one week of build.
Runs forroughly $140 a month in cloud hosting and AI, for the whole company. No per-seat licenses.
Every employee's AIconnects to the system under their own role, so their assistant works with live company data.
Owned outrightthe code, the database and the cloud account. Nothing to renew, nothing to lose.

From the CEO of Capital Choice

The absolute best result you can expect from AI is the quickness of action. It takes away a lot of uncertainty.

Chris DiSilvestriFounder and CEO, Capital Choice Office Furniture
In his words

We have no purchasing person and no controller; the system does that work. For a company our size that is around $100K a year we never had to spend, and for a larger company it would be more like $160K to $200K.

We stopped paying around $40K a year to consultants for accounting and coaching. The clarity on projects and future goals has been invaluable. It replaces expensive coaching.

Your numbers

Run your own rent-versus-own math.

Move the sliders. This is the same arithmetic we ran at Capital Choice before building anything.

CRM, accounting, project tools, forms, scheduling, outsourced services. Capital Choice was at $6,750.
Everyone who touches a quote, a job, an invoice or an inbox.
Loaded cost is fine. The point is the order of magnitude.
Five years, side by side
Keep renting$180,000
Own it (build once, then run it)$48,600
$131,400kept in your business over five years, before counting a single hour saved.
Plus roughly 2,080 hours a year back to your team at five hours per person per week, worth about $93,600 a year at the rate above.

Owning assumes a one-time build in the range Capital Choice paid, plus running costs of about a fifth of your current spend for hosting, AI usage and processing. Your audit replaces these estimates with your real numbers.

How it works

Three steps, in order. Each one earns the next.

Step 1 · two weeks

Ownership Audit

$5,000 · credited toward the sprint

We sit down and map how your business really runs: how a lead becomes a job, how a job becomes money, how money goes out, and the rules you already live by. You leave with a complete profile of your business in a form a builder or an AI can build from, every subscription with its fate and annual dollars, and a phased plan ordered by what hurts most.

Step 2 · two to four weeks

Build-With-You Sprint

From $20,000

We build your first owned system together, phase by phase, on your own cloud account. You and one person from your team are in the driver's seat; I guide, and you learn to steer the AI yourselves. Every phase goes live and gets used before the next one starts.

Step 3 · ongoing

Ownership Retainer

$2,500 per month

Office hours, guidance on the next module, help onboarding your people as the old tools switch off, and a monthly look at what the system is telling you. Stay as long as it pays for itself.

What you own

Yours from day one. Not licensed. Not leased.

  • The source code, in your own repository.
  • The database and every customer, quote, invoice and document in it.
  • The cloud account it runs on and the domain it lives at.
  • The blueprint, your business profile, and the skill to keep extending it.
  • Your own branding on every quote, invoice and portal page. Nobody else's logo.
What this is not

Not a development shop. A developer builds it and leaves, and you're renting from a different person. My job is to make you and your team able to build and extend it yourselves. I'm tool-agnostic; the audit decides the platform, and the platform is always one you can own.

Not a way to replace your people. The system exists to make the people who already make your company great produce more, with less of their week spent on admin. Every role at Capital Choice got hours back. Nobody lost a job.

Not AI doing your books. The AI writes the software; the software does the accounting, deterministically, with an audit trail on everything that moves money. Keep your accountant. Capital Choice did.

Who's behind this

Phillip DiSilvestri

I'm President of Capital Choice Office Furniture. I studied entrepreneurship with a minor in computer science, and I led the build of Capital Choice's operating system with AI, not because I planned to start a consultancy but because of what it did for the company. Once you've watched a whole team stop living in their inbox and margin climb nine points, you don't un-see it.

I didn't start Right to Own because I wanted to sell software. I started it because every owner I talk to is where Capital Choice was before we built this, and I now know the way out. You have a right to own your systems. I'll show you how.
